Four special walking tours are available for registered symposium attendees. These are for limited-size groups; Ford Museum tours require a modest extra charge. Please contact Symposium Chair Bob Frishman to sign up. Separate payment, in a check made to NAWCC, should be mailed directly to Bob when he has confirmed your participation. Ford Museum tour start times will be announced soon.
Benson Ford Research Center-- Thursday afternoon, 1:15 p.m., 90 minutes, $17 per person, limit 15 guests per tour, two groups.
Ford Museum Conservation Center - Thursday afternoon, 1:30 and 3 p.m., 90 minutes, $17 per person, limit 15 guests per tour, two groups (please specify start time when reserving).
Greenfield Village - 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, 60 minutes, $17 per person, limit 30 guests, one group only. Join Jim Johnson -- Curator of Historic Structures & Landscapes and General Manager, Special Events & Creative Programs -- for a horology-focused tour following our morning program and picnic lunch.
SHINOLA TOUR, DOWNTOWN DETROIT
(ten mile drive in personal vehicles from Dearborn)
Shinola Factory Tour - Thursday morning, 10 a.m., free, limit 15 adult guests, 485 West Milwaukee Street, Detroit (located inside the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education). Guest parking in the lot at the front of the building. Enter at the Cass Street or Baltimore entrance, phone Shinola at the main floor security desk. A Shinola associate will come downstairs to gather the group. Arrive no later than 9:45 a.m. Advance registration with Bob Frishman required.
